Al-Kaabi for Technology Support was established in 2006 as an additional step towards realizing Al-Kaabi Trading and Contracting Group’s goal of establishing “Total Testing Solutions” and making them available to the local business community. Al-Kaabi for Technology Support provides Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Services for industrial inspections to ensure that tested structural components and systems would function in a reliable and cost effective fashion. NDT is meant to locate and characterize material conditions and flaws in a manner that does not affect the future usefulness of the object or material tested. NDT provides an excellent balance between quality control and cost-effectiveness. Al-Kaabi for Technology Support boasts of its well-trained staff that has a strong background experience in the fields of NDT, including:

• Radiography Testing (RT), which involves the use of penetrating gamma or X-rays to examine and expose what could otherwise be undetectable defects or malfunctioning of internal components or features of materials and products.
• Magnetic Testing (MT), which is accomplished by inducing a magnetic field in a ferromagnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron particles.
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT), which is basically transmission of high-frequency sound waves into a material to detect imperfections or to identify and locate changes in material properties.
• Penetrant Testing (PT), where the test object is coated with a solution that contains a visible or fluorescent dye. A developer is then applied to draw the penetrant out of the defects. With fluorescent dyes, ultraviolet light is used to make the bleed out fluoresce brightly, thus allowing imperfections to be seen. 
• Electromagnetic Testing (ET), which is conducted by generation of electrical currents (eddy currents) in a conductive material by a changing magnetic field. The strength of these eddy currents can be measured. Material defects cause interruptions in the flow of the eddy currents which alert the inspector to the presence of a defect.
